What fly-in fly-out rosters really involve before you commit.
FIFO means the employer flies you from a hub city to a remote site, and accommodation and meals are usually provided in camp for the duration of your swing.
Common rosters include 2 weeks on / 1 week off, 8 days on / 6 days off and 4 weeks on / 1 week off. Longer swings usually pay more but are harder on family life.
Site access generally requires a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing and a site induction such as Standard 11.
DIDO (drive-in drive-out) is the same model by road, common for sites within a few hours of a regional centre.
