Australian heavy vehicle licences run from LR through to MC (multi-combination). HC covers heavy combination vehicles; MC is required for B-doubles and road trains.
Overseas licences may be convertible, but the process is handled state by state and often requires local assessment. Confirm requirements with the relevant state road authority.
Mining haulage, bulk freight and remote road train work generally pay more, and often involve FIFO or long-distance rosters.
Fatigue management and log book compliance are strictly enforced. Employers expect a clean record and demonstrable experience with the combination you are applying for.
